Father's Day

I've been thinking about Parenthood for the past 15 years or so and for the past four my
mind had been focused on motherhood.  I hadn't really thought about Father's until I became a grown up.  Being in relationship with my partner, who is an amazing father, brought to light my thoughts on fatherhood.  One character trait that influenced the love I have for my partner is Integrity. One thing my partner does naturally and mindfully, that sealed the deal for me, is being a Dad.  A dad is behind you always, 100%, he loves his child unconditionally.

Father's day is a day to celebrate and honor DAD's not males who have sex with someone and the consequence is a child is conceived.

There is a difference. A HUGE difference.

Also, I am of the school of thought that you don't have to be the donor to be considered a Dad.

I know of circumstances where the father had no idea the child existed, that's not what I'm referring to.  There are also people who just don't know any better because perhaps they never had a true father figure in their lives. I don't know the reason I just know, if you know better, you should do better.

I am grateful for my father, my dad and I know that he did and continues to do the best that he knows how for me and my 6 siblings.

Each of us has our own personal relationship with each person in our lives, this is a fact. Remember father's come in all shapes and sizes and all that matters is how you feel about him and the relationship you share.

"It doesn't matter who my father was;
it matters who I remember he was."
Anne Sexton

So today, tomorrow, Sunday (Father's Day 2012) and every day thereafter, show your respect and gratitude for the Father figure in your life.

Life is Love.

Respectfully & Sincerely Yours,
